Commercial Driving Instructor - On Call Substitute

SCC's Commercial Driving School (CDS) is seeking a Commercial Driving Instructor - On Call Substitute. Our CDS program is located in Wentzville, MO. Individual will cover on an as needed basis

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position requires thorough knowledge of industry rules and federal and state regulations in the commercial driving discipline including comprehensive knowledge of equipment, training procedures, testing skills, test preparation and practice protocols.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from a variety of multi-cultural backgrounds.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Position requires regular and predictable attendance.
• Position requires teaching duties under the guidance of the Commercial Driving Coordinator.
• Instruct students when training on simulator training system and the driving range.
• Accompany students in over the road practice (Current CDL required)
• Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in supporting discipline studies or related field, and/or a combination of education and related training, and tested experience of supporting discipline, preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) full-time years professional work experience as tractor trailer driving experience.
• A current and valid Commercial A Driving License.
• Air brake restrictions.
• No Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) citations.
• No restrictions Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen test
