Video Designer

We are seeking a full-time Video Designer to work with a high level of autonomy responsible for creative design and execution of professional quality videos for instructional and training purposes including tutorials, online instruction, interviews, panels, and departmental videos.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Lead the video pre-production process and assist with internal clients/producers.

• Provide professional and creative consultation and recommend solutions for scriptwriting, storyboarding, camera tests, and rehearsals.

• Create high-quality HD videos with proper lighting and high-quality audio for training, tutorials, online instruction, interviews, panels, departmental information, 360 videos, and motion graphics. When needed, create/produce original music When needed, create/produce original music.
  

• Act as cinematographer and sound recordist during production and editor, sound designer, and colorist during post-production.

• Manage, organize, and maintain audio, video, and lighting equipment, including equipment inventory readiness before/after shoots and transport and setup/tear down gear for on-location projects.

• Recommend purchases of audio, video, lighting, and other equipment to meet department goals.

• Work with others to coordinate design for videos for publication online and in LMS.

• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills while interacting with others in a diverse learning environment.

• Excellent time management skills organization, and ability to multitask.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree or higher required in film production, digital cinema production, or related area with college courses in communication or writing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two or more years of experience in the following areas:

• • Proficient use of DSLR camera systems for both still photography and video

  • Proficient use of a variety of microphones and configurations for each environment to produce high-quality audio

  • Proficient use of lighting for indoor, outdoor, low light, and other environments to produce high-quality video

  • Experience using green screen in video production

  • Experience with lighting, sound, and editing for video

  • Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premier Pro preferred)

  • Experience with image editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Fireworks, and Animate preferred)

  • Experience with audio editing software (Adobe Audition or Pro Tools preferred)
