Talent Acquisition Specialist

St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, nestled in the heart of growing St. Charles County. Established in 1986, SCC is a public, comprehensive two-year community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs in the arts, business, sciences and career-technical fields. SCC also provides workforce training and community-based personal and professional development as well as cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities.

SCC seeks a full-time Talent Acquisition Specialist to partner with hiring managers to recruit talent for the College.  This position is responsible for full cycle recruiting associated with each hire, from requisition to orientation.  Additional responsibilities include various administrative functions for the HR department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates recruitment, selection, and employment processes, ensuring compliance with established College requirements, applicable laws, and departmental procedures.
  • Creates and places job ads for recruiting purposes.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Applicant Tracking system including posting positions, adding users, departments and committee members.
  • Manages, prioritizes, and closes searches against a timeline and set of overarching organizational priorities. Maintains detailed records. Provides regular recruiting status reports.
  • Conducts reference checks.
  • Assists with writing job descriptions.
  • Makes job offers, ensuring fair employment practices and procedures.
  • Processes employee terminations.
  • Accurately maintains and applies up-to-date knowledge regarding fair employment practices and laws.
  • Responsible for employment posters compliance.
  • Conducts of assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which include I-9 audits.
  • Ensures that all Unemployment Compensation claims against the College are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Participates on Search Committees to provide guidance, input, and HR services.
  • Creates ongoing and special reports as needed.
  • Communicates College policies and procedures to internal and external customers.
  • Represents the College at various job fairs and recruiting events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience working in Human Resources.  Talent acquisition experience preferred.   Knowledgeable of applicant tracking systems. Proficient in collaborating and communicating effectively with all employees.  Excellent organization and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.  Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
