Health Occupations Instructor, Project-Based

St. Charles Community College seeks a part-time, project-based Health Occupations Instructor for the upcoming fall 2021 semester who will instruct students in direct patient care skills to attain personal and career goals and assist in developing programs that provide opportunities for entry-level employment in healthcare.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Teaches students the necessary skills to attain personal and career goals.
• Participates in patient care technician curriculum development and evaluation.
• Coordinates with clinical site as appropriate for assigned curriculum.
• Participates in campus and department activities to promote programs and support clinical partnerships.
• Assists in selection and development of instructional materials for students.
• Assists program coordinator with planning, developing, and executing programs related to healthcare.
• Assists program coordinators and instructors to evaluate and guide student progress.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A degree in nursing with at least 3-years' experience.
• Candidates must be self-directed, able to handle multiple projects at a time, and able to work with minimal supervision under the direction of the program coordinator.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook.
• Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing healthcare personnel and their training.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Instructor should demonstrate continuous attention to detail.
• Must maintain current undisciplined MO RN license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preference for candidates with MO CNA Instructor/Examiner Certificate
• MO CMT Instructor/Examiner Certificate.
