St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, in the heart of growing St. Charles County. St. Charles Community College seeks a full-time Director of Institutional Research who is responsible for the institutional research function of the College, including data collection, coordination of institutional reporting, data analysis, data submission, and reviewing research. The Director ensures accurate, timely, and appropriate information is provided for internal and external reporting purposes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees institutional reporting activities and responses to state, federal, and other outside requests for data and information.
  • Serves as the primary data coordinator for the Missouri Department of Higher Education, serves as the IPEDS keyholder, coordinates the College's IPEDS reporting, and serves as the primary data coordinator for the Higher Learning Commission.
  • Ensures the preparation of standard internal and external reports regarding student enrollment and other topics to support strategic and planning initiatives, decision-making, and College performance.
  • Serves as internal consultant in the design, implementation, analysis and interpretation of studies of assessment of student learning outcomes, institutional assessment, and institutional effectiveness.
  • Provides leadership in the development, administration, and analysis of peer data, benchmarking, and forecast modeling studies. Serves as campus internal subject-matter expert with regard to best practices for development and administration of survey studies. Provides oversight of institutional surveys, including survey design, survey content, survey deployment, and survey data use.
  • Provides various data sets involving student, faculty, and staff statistics that will answer management questions about issues of institutional effectiveness, assessment, and the efficient use of College resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in statistical analysis, psychology, social science research, educational research, math, educational administration, or a closely related research field.
  • Three or more years of experience applying advanced statistical methods for research purposes and data reporting.
  • Proficient in quantitative and qualitative research design and analysis.
  • Exceptional writing and research skills, organizational skills, multi-project management, advanced skills in statistical software (e.g. Excel and SPSS), and a collaborative leadership style are also required.
  • A Ph.D. in a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in higher education is preferred.
