Culinary Arts Program Director
St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, nestled in the heart of growing St. Charles County. Established in 1986, SCC is a public, comprehensive two-year community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs in the arts, business, sciences and career-technical fields. SCC also provides workforce training and community-based personal and professional development as well as cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities.
We are seeking a full-time, Culinary Arts Program Director, who is responsible for program and course development centered on technical instruction designed to prepare students for careers in food service and related industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborates with other credit and non-credit departments, as well as K-12 and industry partners, to create innovative opportunities and partnerships in alignment with the strategic vision and mission of the college
- Responsible for program coordination, scheduling, instruction, and oversight
- Orders and maintains supplies
- Keeps records of accounts
- Monitors kitchen equipment and establishes procedures to ensure a safe learning environment and efficient operation reflective of industry standards
- Leads the program advisory board for Culinary Arts
- Takes an active role in student advising, recruitment, and retention
- Supervises internships
- Serves on college committees
- Participates in program development and revision

Education and/or Experience
- Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or a closely related field AND two years of teaching or training experience.
- Preferred qualifications: Industry credentials or professional certifications such as: American Culinary Federation Certified, Executive Chef Certification, American Restaurant Association, Serv-Safe instructor/proctor certification, etc. Extensive knowledge in the areas of food sciences, international cuisine, fundamentals of baking, garde manger, buffet theory and production, principles of food beverages, the management of food production and service in the hospitality industry.
