Admissions Assistant

St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, in the heart of growing St. Charles County. At St. Charles Community College, we have a passion for student success. St. Charles Community College seeks a full-time Admissions Assistant who will promote a customer service-oriented atmosphere by addressing prospective students' inquiries (via email, phone, or in-person) in an effective and timely manner; and by serving as a resource during the recruitment process. Performs various administrative duties essential to the operation of the Admissions, Registration, and Records department.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides prospective students with general information about the college.
  • Answers incoming and follow-up on voicemail messages for Admissions department.
  • Monitors and responds to the department general email address.
  • Processes incoming applications.
  • Maintains and assists students with computer usage and additional office machines.
  • Assists with department filing, photocopying, scanning, and other projects as assigned.
  • Orders and maintains supplies and publications and monitors display racks.
  • Assists with training of new staff.
  • Downloads ACT scores and MOSIS information (Missouri Student Information System) each month.
  • Processes incoming high school transcripts and enters information into the student information system
  • Assists with the planning of events such as the College Fair, A+ Nights, Open Houses, and High School Counselor Day.
  • Creates and maintains various databases, including working knowledge of recruitment CRM.
  • Acts as a back-up tour guide when needed.
  • Assists with helping students register for classes
  • Assists with maintaining accurate student records in the student information system

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum one year relevant full time experience
  • Data entry and the ability to learn customized programs quickly.
  • Customer service and general office experience required.
  • Must be friendly, professional, and possess strong interpersonal and listening skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a college or education setting.
