St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, nestled in the heart of growing St. Charles County. Established in 1986, SCC is a public, comprehensive two-year community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs in the arts, business, sciences and career-technical fields. SCC also provides workforce training and community-based personal and professional development as well as cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities.

We are seeking a full-time Dual Credit Coordinator who will deliver services to high school students and their parents which may include recruitment, academic and/or career/technical programs advising and registration for the Early College Academy and Dual Enrollment programs. This position involves frequent travel to area high schools, superior customer service delivery, and problem resolution for students and parents regarding dual credit admission and registration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides comprehensive academic advising services to Early College Academy and Dual Enrollment students. This position will apply current knowledge of all college programs, transfer information to other colleges, College scholarship opportunities, and a basic understanding of federal financial aid.
  • Services will be delivered in one to one, online, group, and telephone settings.
  • Recruits prospective students; visits local and service area high schools to promote the Early College Academy and Dual Enrollment to students.
  • Explains and guides students through the process of understanding placement test results and any resulting course placements or restrictions. This position must maintain accurate and current knowledge of college programs and be able to convey that information to students in light of their placement test results.
  • This position is actively involved in intentional, proactive contacts and interventions with students to facilitate student success and completion. Contacts and interventions will be done on an individual, group, and electronic basis and data on the outcomes of these interactions will be maintained.
  • Assists with securing course materials for students from districts paying those costs.
  • Assists with the development of a formal recruitment and retention plan for the ECA and DE.
  • Attends events hosted by the high school to inform parents of the ECA and DE.
  • Provides both written and verbal communications with students and parents during the admissions and registration process.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve issues related to ECA & DE.
  • Promotes the ECA and DE to the College community.
  • Assists with reviewing processes on an ongoing basis for further automation, efficiency and customer service.
  • Works with Marketing and Communications Department in developing college brochures and publications.
  • Utilizes the College student information system and Document Management System for effective recordkeeping, tracking data, and preparing reports.
  • Answers and responds to incoming inquiries for the ECA and DE.
  • Serves on College committees, as deemed appropriate by supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of study and two (2) years of experience in a direct service environment in higher education or human resources. Math, writing, effective presentation/communication and computer skills are essential. Must be able to operate miscellaneous office equipment such as computer, calculator, printer, telephone and copier. Must possess reliable transportation that will be used frequently for travel to local schools. Valid Missouri driver's license and satisfactory MVR history.


Preferred qualifications: Two (2) years of experience in higher education student services and Master's degree from an accredited institution.
