St. Charles Community College is seeking a full-time HR Generalist who will coordinate employment activities for the College.

Other duties:

  • Coordinates recruitment, selection, and employment processes, ensuring compliance with established College requirements, departmental procedures and applicable laws including I-9 and eVerify.
  • Oversees pending and follow-up processes performed by the HR Assistant to ensure that all necessary documentation and information is obtained.
  • Develops, maintains, and delivers new hire orientation process using emerging and best practices for an efficient and effective program.
  • Creates and places job ads for recruiting purposes.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Applicant Tracking system including posting positions, adding users, departments and committee members.
  • Responsible for the monthly Personnel Recommendation report for presentation to the Board of Trustees.
  • Notifies HR staff of new hires for the upcoming week.
  • Makes job offers, ensuring fair employment practices and consistency of the compensation program.
  • Responsible for handling the employee separation process.
  • Participates in design of overall training strategy and annual training calendar. Serves as a resource for HR Assistant who is responsible for the L&D program.
  • Oversees recordkeeping process of the HR Assistant for all training courses, course offerings, training effectiveness, and individual employee training histories. Ensures legal compliance by retaining a comprehensive file of course materials and attendance sign in sheets for each training class provided.
  • Accurately maintains and applies up-to-date knowledge regarding fair employment practices and laws.
  • Responsible for employer posters compliance.
  • Ensures that all Unemployment Compensation claims against the College are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Participates on Search Committees to provide guidance, input, and HR services.
  • Creates ongoing and special reports as needed.
  • Communicates College policies and procedures to internal and external customers.
  • Coordinates catering, training, and sign-in sheets for Staff-in-Service program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Hours:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Starting Compensation:  $29,889 to $38,856 per year, commensurate with experience

Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated, thorough knowledge in Human Resources theory and fair employment practices. Exempt level experience in a Human Resources Generalist role is desired. Strong skills in the use of web-based technology, Word, and Excel are required.
